Dr Janine Payne
Janine graduated from Monash University in 1990 and moved to Gippsland in 1994 with her family. She enjoys all areas of general practice and feels privileged to be allowed to be involved in patients’ care and loves living in one of the most beautiful places in Australia!
Dr Malcolm McKelvie
Malcolm graduated from Monash University in 1990 and has lived in Gippsland with Janine Payne since 1994. Providing personalised continuity of care and dealing with the myriad of individual medical problems are the things that interest him in general practice. Outside medicine he is involved in the local sustainability network, providing a range of home energy assessment services.
Dr Alison Stacey
MBBS(Hons). She completed the Diploma of Obstetrics and Gynaecology (DRANZCOG) whilst working at Sunshine Hospital in 2008, and the Diploma of Child Health in 2009.
Alison attained Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) in 2011, and worked in General Practice in Melbourne and Launceston before relocating to Gippsland in 2016.
Alison has an interest in all aspects of women’s health, including breastfeeding, antenatal shared care, contraception and medical terminations. Alison is an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant and is a Shared Maternity Care Affiliate with the West Gippsland Hospital.
Dr Anika Nihill
Anika is originally from Ballarat and did her medical training in Canberra. She has been working as a GP in Gippsland since 2018 and have been in other medical roles in hospitals around Victoria from 2008.
She loves general practice because it allows her to meet a wide variety of people, and to support them to optimise their health and wellbeing over time. She likes to take an open-minded and calm approach to problems and decide on a plan for management together.
She particularly enjoys working with people with chronic conditions, focussing on the aspects of their care or conditions that are important to them personally and to improve these areas as much as possible.
Dr Kimberly Imperial
Kimberly graduated from Monash University in Biomedical Science and then Medicine in 2018. She has been working in Gippsland since 2021. She is interested in all aspects of general practice and in her spare time enjoys running and doing aerial hoop.
Dr Romina Madappuli
Dr Romina Madappuli was born in Sri Lanka, and has lived in Australia for over 10 years. Dr Madappuli graduated from the University of Melbourne Medical school in 2019, trained at Geelong for her internship and at Monash Health thereafter. Dr Madappuli has done rotations in Paediatrics, mental health, geriatrics, gastroenterology in addition to general medicine and surgery in hospitals. She commenced her General Practice training in Gippsland in January 2024 and commenced at Yarragon Medical Centre August 2024. Romina is interested in all aspects of General Practice, as it helps to build holistic and lifelong relationships with her patients. Outside of medicine, Romina enjoys running and keeping up with her young toddler.
Nurses
Janette
Janette has been a registered nurse since 1980 and has worked in many areas including aged care, emergency, theatre and general practice. She is committed to caring for and educating patients to keep them well and out of hospital. Outside work, she enjoys travelling, cycling and restoration work.
Coral
Coral is a registered nurse who has been working in general practice for thirteen years. She is interested in all aspects of preventive healthcare. She loves caravanning, her chickens and her cute dog.
Narelle
Narelle is a registered nurse who has worked in general practice since 2004. She enjoys meeting and helping people of all ages and advocating for patients about disease prevention and chronic health management. She loves spending time with her family, travel and cooking.
Administration
Naomi
Naomi started working at Yarragon Medical as Practice Manager in 2014. She enjoys all aspects of her position but especially the interactions with patients and having a laugh with her colleagues. She loves spending time with her family and dogs and cheering on the Phoenix NBL team.
Mandy
Mandy joined our reception team in 2014.
Cheryl
Cheryl joined as a receptionist in 2018. She lives on a small farm where she tends her beloved horses!
Peta
Peta is a born and bred Gippsland farmer who has worked in medical reception for many years and at Yarragon Medical since 2018.
